SENEGAL
The Senegalese print press has many newspapers, but their publication can be irregular and their reach is limited in rural areas. Like many African countries, radio remains the most followed media by the population to stay informed. Nearly a hundred private or community radio stations operate in the country alongside public radios. However, the broadcasting sector remains in the hands of a limited number of actors. The country also has about ten television channels. Internet is developing in the country, especially through mobile phones, and more than one in five Senegalese have access to it. |
