IVORY COAST
The media sector in Côte d'Ivoire is constantly evolving and growing, although public media still dominate the market due to their national broadcasts and public funding. The country has a large number of newspapers and magazines. Internet is used by more than one fifth of Ivorians, primarily in urban centers. Online sources of information such as Abidjan.net are increasingly consulted and gaining professionalism, competing with print media. However, media funding remains a challenge for the industry despite the growth of the advertising market. Since 2019, Côte d'Ivoire has begun transitioning to digital television, with over 60% of Abidjan residents knowing about TNT in 2022. |
