CONGO KINSHASA - RDC

Private media in the DRC are numerous and varied, with a total of 540 publications, of which only about fifteen are published regularly. There are 177 television channels. Due to poverty and the country's geography, newspapers and other publications are generally small and have low circulation. Radio remains the main source of information, with a total of 61 stations, while the internet is widespread in urban areas, but less than 5% of the population has access to it. Only the Congolese National Radio and Television (RTNC) and the United Nations Radio Okapi have national coverage. The print press is virtually nonexistent outside the capital city of Kinshasa. News websites such as actualité.cd and 7sur7.cd are rapidly developing.
