CHAD

In Chad, the high illiteracy rate and difficult economic conditions have significantly reduced the number of print media outlets in the country. Only about ten newspapers, such as L'Observateur, N'Djamena Hebdo, and Le Pays, are published regularly. On the other hand, radio is the primary means of information in the country, with the national broadcasting company managing several stations and around sixty independent radio stations. In the capital, the FM/Liberté radio station created by human rights activists is the most listened to. As for television, there is one public channel and three private channels. Despite the presence of the internet, its use remains limited in the country, with less than 5% of the population having access to this technology.
