CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE
In Congo, the media landscape is highly diversified, with about twenty private television channels, twenty newspapers, and forty radio stations. The most popular channels are Digital Radio Television (DRTV) and Vox TV, while the private radio station Radio Mucodec is also widely listened to. It should be noted that Les Dépêches de Brazzaville is the only daily newspaper available, and the oldest weekly newspaper in the country, La Semaine Africaine, was founded in 1952. Audiovisual media is the main source of information for the Congolese population, but only public radio and television have national coverage. Although the Internet is rapidly developing, particularly in urban areas, the number of users remains below one-tenth of the population. |
